Maidenhead Locator is a simple application which determines your Maidenhead QTH locator using the devices location capabilities. The locator is calculated to the standard 6 digit format (e.g. KP20LH) plus an extra 4 digits for those needing more accuracy.
Your location is determined using the devices location API. It is set to use GPS when possible, otherwise defaults to the location associated with nearby wifi signals and cellular positioning information.
The locator and reported GPS position is updated as you move around, and the trigger for an update is set to every 5m to avoid GPS drift. The time of the latest update is reported using the current date/time in UTC format.
The GPS position format changes when you tap on the coordinates from DDD.dddd° to DDD° mm.mmm.
