Chanel College is named after St. Peter Chanel, who was a French Marist Father. He accompanied the first Catholic Missionary Band to Western Oceania. The missionaries arrived at Vava’u but were’nt welcome and thus continued their journey to Futuna. He was martyred on Futuna in 1941 and declared a saint in 1951Chanel College was Opened in 1966 with the Founder and First Ever Principal the Late Bishop Patelesio Punou ki Hihifo Finau, by 1991 the 1st Silver Jubilee of 25th Years. We heading to 2016 with the Golden Jubilee of 50 Years Nowadays the Chanel College of Ex-student are spreading the world with the brightness they receives from Land of Kelana.
