The bigger the monster you eat, the more filled the evolve meter gets. Once the meter is filled up, you can evolve. In order to do so, you first have to find a safe place where you can evolve inside a cocoon. Here you level up, become more powerful and select a new ability.Monster Tips and TricksAs powerful as you may seem, there are four heavily armed hunters after you, and chances are you will not be able to take them on in a 4 on 1 fight, especially at the beginning of the game. Focus on running and hiding, especially in early game.The maps are filled with all sorts of wildlife, from non-threatening herbivores to aggressive carnivores. A monster's main goal is to kill and eat the wildlife. Eating wildlife gives you armor and fills your evolve meter. Armor increases the damage you take before taking permanent damage, while filling the evolve meter lets you evolve to your new form faster.Stop and smell the roses - and the hunters! Use the smell ability as much as possible, as it's free to use and has a short cooldown. Smelling is the X-ray vision of the monster, letting you see every creature and hunter in a medium range. Wildlife is colored based on its aggressiveness and danger towards you: Blue = dead wildlife, Yellow = docile or minor threats, Red = highly aggressive wildlife. Note that colors change as you evolve.Monsters leave tracks. Tracks can be followed by hunters. Solution: Don't leave so many tracks! Try to alternate sneaking with using your movement ability to keep the hunters guessing where you are going.Hunters killing wildlife = free meals. Inexperienced hunters will often find themselves getting tangled up in the local wildlife, and can provide a monster with plenty of free meals - as long as you are sneaky about it.Staying in the starting area is a high risk maneuver that can end a game very quickly, and usually not well for the monster.
