For the first time in 60 years, 2012 will be the Year of the Yang Water Dragon. This is based on the East Asian calendar cyclic numeral system of 60 combinations that falls within the two basic cycles, the ten heavenly stems (天干; chun-gan) and the twelve earthly branches (地支; ji-ji). The ‘im 壬’ represents the color black from the ten heavenly stems, and ‘jin 辰’ represents the dragon from the twelve earthly branches.
