Super Cute Animal Rumble

Super Cute Animal Rumble is a strategy game where players build armies to defeat the enemy base. While Bejeweled uses a mechanic of "merge 3 and they disappear", SCAR uses the "merge 3 and gain a more powerful unit" mechanic from games like Triple Town. Players pull units onto the board and merge them to make them more powerful, but they must also keep some smaller units around because they get more moves if they have more units on the board.There are several play modes in SCAR. Players can play against 1, 2 or 3 AI opponents that get more challenging the more the player plays, and they can also play against a friend alternating turns using Hotseat mode. Finally, players that sign up with an email can play asynchronously online against random opponents, or they can challenge their friends. However, the game can be played locally against the AI and against other players in Hotseat mode without ever signing up with an email. There are several different animal species in SCAR, and each one has tradeoffs that can reward different styles of play, without making any one animal type dominant over all others.Dogs are above average in health and damage, Cats have more damage but a bit less health. Turtles have a great deal of health, but less damage and fewer moves. Rabbits get more moves per turn, and move faster, but are weaker in combat. Weasels start out weak but rank up better than other species, so their most powerful unit, the Honey Badger is stronger than anything comparable at that level. Owls gain more experience from combat, and Spikey creatures do more retaliatory damage when attacked.There is a tutorial in the game that can be accessed by clicking the ? button in the upper right corner and then clicking the "Replay Tutorial" button at the bottom of the menu. It can be played just knowing a few simple moves: pulling pieces onto the board, moving them to new empty spaces, and moving them onto other enemy pieces to attack, but there are deeper strategies that can be formed once players know the game better.
