The ”Trip” is an old crusaders tavern dating back to the year 1189 AD. The game is still played at this and many other pubs yet today. After Ernest Hemingway visited the pub during WWII, he took the game back to the Caribbean Islands starting a similar but simpler ring game with just a hook and ring called Bimini.
