The improved Vienna City Marathon (VCM) 2014 App provides you with plenty of information before, during, and after the Marathon event.- Newsreader and Live-TickerYou get the latest news around the marathon directly on your phone. The news ticker keeps you up to date during the marathon itself.- Course MapView the courses of various competitions of the Vienna City Marathon and find the locations of several points of interest, such as toilets or entertainment, on an interactive map.- Runner TrackingThe Runner Tracking feature allows you to create a list of up to 5 runners and virtually follow their progress through location updates and on the course map.- ResultsBrowse through the results of the current and the past marathons.Required app permissions:- Storage - Modify or delete the contents of your USB storage: Required to store news, images, etc.- System tools - Prevent phone from sleeping: Can be used occasionally during the event day to stay up-to-date.- Your location - Precise (GPS) location: If you decide to contribute to the VCM safety concept, your GPS location will be used anonymously to generate crowd density estimations during the event day.- Phone calls - Read phone status and identity: Your phone number is required to register to the SMS service.- Network communication - Full network access: Required to load news, results, etc.- System tools - Run at startup: Needed to make sure you can receive notifications.- Hardware controls - Control vibration: In case the VCM team needs to send an important safety message, you will get a vibra alert.- Network communication - View network connection: For correct operation of several functions the app needs to make sure you are actually online.- Your accounts - Read Google service configuration: Required to show a Google Map with important locations and during the event also runner locations.
