OMOTENASHI App

DescriptionThis is an application for visitors to Japan like you. This feature-rich application helps you enjoy your stay in Japan even more. (Simple user registration is required.)-Currently, the OMOTENASHI App is only available in English, but support for other languages is on the way.-To use the OMOTENASHI App, user registration is required. The user information is used for delivering wide range of services to visitors in Japan like you. The information you provide shall be used as stated in the “Terms of use” presented at the time of registration.-The OMOTENASHI App plans to use your GPS-based location data to offer you enhanced services. Your GPS-based location data shall also be used as stated in the “Terms of use .“-This application is provided as part of “FY2014 Field Trial of Electronic Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry Deployment (Field Trial of a Business Model using Unified ID Trust Framework Test Platform).”http://www.meti.go.jp/english/index.html-The planned OMOTENASHI App trial period is from Thursday, October 16, 2014 to Monday, March 23, 2015.Services-Unified ID Trust Framework (“OpenID connect”) allows you to use all the services the OMOTENASHI App provides, with only your OMOTENASHI user ID and a one-time authentication.Once you become a registered user, you can enjoy the following services free of charge:--Free Wi-Fi with an OMOTENASHI user IDYou can use Wi-Fi networks in Japan provided by multiple Wi-Fi service providers (with over 50 thousand access points throughout Japan) free of charge.Your OMOTENASHI user ID allows you to use any of the participating service providers’ Wi-Fi networks; and no separate registration is required for each Wi-Fi network. The smooth handover between networks provides you the seamless coverage.--Single Sign-onWith your OMOTENASHI user ID you can use any of applications shown in the home page without separate registrations. There is no need to register for each application if you are a registered OMOTENASHI App user.
