Born into a family of literature,from childhood Sonroopa realized her affection towards poetry and ghazals.she received Inspiration to write poems from her father.She has done Ph.D. in Hindi. From childhood she was fond of music,she initially started learning ghazals by hearing the legendary singers.she did not learn music formally as Guru Shishy Parampara but wherever she felt to be learned from the masters she tried to work on her singing, currently she is learning nuances of ghazal under the guidance of renowned classical singer Ghazal Ustad Sakhavat Hussian khan. Her voice entices audience because of the emotions, expressions and soulfulness. Sonroopa has had the opportunity to present solo performance and to be a part of prominent works at some of the most prestigious cultural space in India and abroad .including the Mahatma Gandhi Institute in Mauritius.
