Reading Diary

It is essential for children to complete daily reading to improve their literacy skills. Little Techies Reading Diary is a fun, interactive and paper free way for children to record their daily reading.

Reading Diary provides school aged children a space to record their daily reading. Books are logged using a library with a video recording option available. Performance is measured based on time and number of books read. Awards are given to encourage children to continue reading.

Library
The library uses the Amazon search engine to provide details about the book being read. The actual image of the book cover is inserted into your library. The library houses every book that the child has read, including ongoing books. Books that can not be found in Amazon can be created using a generic book.

Timer
The timer provides real time recording of how many minutes the child has read. A pause and save option is available.

Video recording
A 20 second video can be recorded of the child reading. This is a great tool to track childrens progress and to take the home reading to school. Fluency and expression can be monitored and shared.

Mood
Children can choose from a variety of mood options (smilies) to be logged with their reading session.
This mood is then averaged in their profile section.

Comments
This section allows the reader, parent or teacher to provide a short comment on the childs reading session.

Trophies
Trophies can be awarded on merit, pass code option available on trophies (for them to be awarded by someone other than the reader). There are a range of different colourful and child friendly trophies. Trophies for the amount of time read and number of videos are given automatically to child.

Statistics
Data of time read can be viewed in weekly, monthly and yearly format. Statistics can be saved to the photo gallery.
