Prince William and Kate Middletons long awaited wedding is just about to happen. They are going to swear eternal fidelity to each other on the 29th of April t. Their wedding is to be the most important social as well as political event of 2011.The invitations in gold lettering, gilded edges printed on a stiff white card have been sent to the mailboxes of some of the best connected people. In fact, Kate and William have invited over 1900 guests, from kings to charity leaders, from the closest family members to prime ministers all over the world. The ceremony will take place in Westminster Abbey from where the happy royal couple will travel in a horse drawn carriage letting the gathered people catch a glimpse of them. The carriage will follow the route Parliament Square, Whitehall, Horse Guards Parade and the Mall to the Buckingham Palace where the newlyweds are expected to appear on the balcony for a brief public view.
April 29 falls on a Friday and the Government has designated it as a bank holiday. David Cameron welcomed the announcement of the wedding date, which he said would be a "happy and momentous occasion".
