Schweizerdeutsch - Swiss German dictionary

This app is an off-line dictionary with over 2400 words and phrases in Swiss German and translations to standard German and English.

If you are Swiss, if you are visiting Switzerland, if you have contacts with Swiss people or if you just like Switzerland, this is a “must have” app for you.

This app includes a dictionary that contains only (!) those words from Swiss German (Schweizerdeutsch also known as Schwyzerdütsch, Schwiizertüütsch, Schwizertitsch or Swiss German) that are different from standard German (Hochdeutsch, Standard Deutsch). Apart from words in Swiss German and standard German, also meanings in English and comments are included.

Another feature of this app is "random word or phrase" screen that appears when you tap on Swiss flag icon in various places inside the app. Inside of this screen you can use "shake to shuffle" feature or just press refresh button to get next phrase or word randomly.

This app may be useful for Swiss citizens too as several words and phrases are specific to given Canton and not widely known in other Swiss Cantons.
